No.

Simmons is a 6'10/6'11 point guard with no offensive game, other than his height. He's a pass-first player. That in itself isn't a bad thing, as Magic dominated as a 6'9 pg, but Magic had a world of offensive moves down low when he needed them.

As for all the "basketball IQ" talk, yes, he can see the court and pass. How high is that IQ to make passes to some of the players he's made, when the score is tight and the game is on the line? I don't CARE if such-and-such is open for a 3, that guy hasn't been making them, and you NEED to score.

It gets a little pathetic to hear some fans twisting themselves into knots, trying to explain how great someone is, and if you can't see it you "just don't know basketball".

This reminds me of the "all Shaq can do is dunk" line of thinking. The problem with that reasoning was, that was all he needed to do and no one could stop him from doing it. Dunking is great, and when you can get that shot all the time, that's amazing.

Simmons has basically fouled out three entire front courts in conference play. Not bad for a 6'10" point forward who can't score, yet somehow scores 20 a game.

You are the epitome of ignorant. Simmons can't shoot. Other than that his offensive game is elite. He's an elite passer, elite dribbler, elite at getting to the rim. Ask yourself this question: Why does every basketball person in the know think he's the best player in college basketball, but I think he isn't? The answer is because you're ignorant and you

And? That's like saying Michael Vick didn't have great QB skills. He was just really fast. I think Vick was pretty good in college.

Would Simmons be as effective if he was 6-2? No. Guess what, though. He is in fact 6-10. Last time I checked, they don't adjust PPG to relative to height.

He averages 20ppg & makes 56% of his shots
