For us it was a story of two splits. The first split was just off the charts, he steadily hunted a lagoon with easily 15K gray ducks in it and they were there the whole split. Average hunt was 24 birds in about an hour and a half.
Second split from open to close we had to work for the birds. We had many hunts without limits and this past weekend we limited on cans and left when we did because there wasn't much else out there.
That being said I would be back this weekend if it was still open.

First split we had 81 ducks second split only 26. Made a total of 18 hunts. The ducks just didn't show up in the second split as normal. I hunted Dularge north of falgout canal and a 25 acre crawfish pond in Raceland. We used to kill over 500 ducks a year in the crawfish pond and killed a whopping 11 ducks in it this year.
