Anyone here want to give me the scoop on apartment for rent in that area there (near Corporate Blvd in BR)?
Towne Center advice needed, let me know opinion as far as "Enclave" apartments vs. "Millennium" apartments. Happy Friday

Enclave is very nice. Also very expensive. I want to say it was around $1300/mo for a two bedroom when I was looking.

~$1300-$1400 for a 2 bedroom. I was looking recently.

I've lived in Enclave. It's nice for the most part. Millennium seems to have better management from what my friends have told me.
Have you looked at The Reserve?

It's all relative. That would be a bargain in my area.

IDK. I tend to get really lucky as far as housing goes, so I'm convinced it isn't really luck and is more the fact that I put the time and effort into looking. I think anyone can find a good place if they try hard.
I live in a 1200 sq.ft. 2-story 2BR/2.5Bath townhome with a fenced in back patio/granite counters/wood floors/etc. for $1150/month. Granted, they're individually owned and I feel quite certain my landlord has hers decorated better than many of the ones for rent, but it beats the hell out of those newer apartments that, while clean, are generally small and you're surrounded by hundreds of others without a private yard or anything.
There are like 5 "for rent" signs in my little community right now as well. Plus you get mikelbr as a neighbor if you live there

Well coming across individually owned units in BR is pretty rare nowadays. 5-7 years ago was a completely different story.
I lucked out with my situation with The High Grove apartments. Because barely anyone knew about the apartment complex.

You pay a premium to be that close to LSU.

I guess..? Like I said, my place has numerous units for rent right now. And every place I've ever lived since moving out at 18 was individually owned
I will agree it isn't as easy because Craigslist is filled with so much crap (although I DID find my current place there), but if you just dedicate a few days to driving around, it shouldn't be too hard.

I lived in an individual owned unit for the majority of my time at LSU (Brightside Estates). My landlord apparently lived in our unit after Katrina.
You can definitely find deals on craigslist that are better than the majority of the new complexes. But the majority of people don't want to deal with riff raff on Craigslist.
I also can't stress enough how ridiculous the apartment scene in BR is.

Crazy. It really is crazy. And these new student communities are turning the lower priced (yet safe) apartments into trash.
I just moved from a place on Brightside that was $650/mo for a 1-bedroom and even though it wasn't "dangerous", it was trashy as frick as far as residents go. Not one person in that complex was a student.

Enclave has crap-loads of carpet. Nasty. At least Millennium has some units with concrete floors. But Millennium is lacking in parking. The Developer got the complex approved with fewer parking spots than needed because visitors could "walk from Town Center" but then refused to build a sidewalk.
I would look at the individually owned condos/townhomes for the same price-point. There's a relatively new condominium on 7559 LaSalle.

What's the deal with homes for rent listed on Craigslist and extremely low prices? I know they're not legit but what's the benefit to the individual listing the home?

I pay $1300 for a two bedroom @citiscape but it includes all utilities except electric

What do you mean? Cable and internet? Or you mean trash/sewer/water?
Because pretty much anywhere you go covers the latter. That's not a deal.

Expensive as hell.
You're better off just buying a condo at that price.
