The problem with the cat haters is their ignorance of cats. They tend to lump all cats together into the douchiest cat personality. Aside from the obvious fact that cats and dogs have different personalities stemming from very different characteristics, there seems to be a greater variation of personality in cats than dogs from my anecdotal experience. Dogs on a whole tend to be consistently more social and affectionate creatures.

Cats are really hit or miss. I've been around a few cats that were really awesome. Very friendly, personable but of course still independent and roamy as well. But I've also been around cats that fit the stereotype and just flat out are unfriendly assholes. I suspect that the cat haters simply extend this template to all cats having no other experience to go off of.
