quote:Very good hamburgers. Hop skip and jump from Fort Moultrie (if history is an interest). Shem Creek in Mt Pleasant -- good casual seafood on the water. My favorite is Red's. Vickery's if you like fresh fried SF. The Wreck is good too. Hard to get to though.
Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island
Charleston eating is similar to NO. (Not quite there, but close) Tons of good eateries. Fleets Seafood is a fried seafood place on the Bay.
As has been said, Poogans, Husk, Queen 82 are side by side on Queens. All good. The Ordinary and Fig are good. Normally need resy's.
Slightly North of Broad Restaurant, High Cotton, Magnolias, Pearlz Oyster Bar, Blossom, Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar, Cypress are all clustered on E Bay St.
Checkout OpenTable for menus, pricing, etc.
For lunch there are a bunch of spots down Kings St.
