I have found that Jon boats at least 48 inches wide across the bottom are very stable.
I have a 1648 with a 25 hp two stroke. It is a very versatile boat for the fishing I do. Which is not in the ocean.

I used to fish out this when I was in college. Same model. Got pic off google. Added a swivel stand 36" from walmart and smallest deep cycle battery I could find. Worked great unless winds were high
