why do so many people on this board like Jack Del Rio?

He wears a suit and has lsu ties (no pun intended) because he coaches Toefield.

i am pretty sure Toefield has nothing to do with it. Then, pretty much every coach in the NFL would have LSU ties. His LSU ties are that his daughter goes to LSU

A successful NFL coach with ties to the state/school is going to be very attractive. Even if he doesn't have an immediate knack with recruiting, just the gravitas (to borrow a word from the 2000 presidential election) of a former NFL coach would land some recruits with NFL aspirations.
I am beginning to get on the Cowher bandwagon, if he's interested. He could be a legitimate 10 or 15 year coach, if he likes it. He just turned 50, is not affiliated with another "big tradition" school, and has already been there, done that, got the t-shirt NFL thing.
Could be an interesting choice...

Why would Cowher come to Baton Rouge? Aren't all of his ties in North Carolina? Or no?

he said successful NFL coaches dipshit.
Wannstedt was always poor to mediocre
Weiss was never a HC
Callahan- rode Gruden's team to the SB and then ran them into the ground.
Maybe you should worry less about LSU's coaching situation and more about one day actually winning the East.

Because he's a very solid, defensively minded, and successful NFL coach who happens to be interested in the job. And if he came here, he'd be here a long time unless fired.
