Is Devin our other ILB?

Sorry if it's been discussed I'm a little busy and wanted to know if that was feasible.

It's been discussed a lot on here. He wants to play RB and has been told that LSU is taking him at RB

This.

However, that isn't to say he won't see the depth at both positions and see a ton of early PT and brighter future at LB.

Sometimes it just takes a few weeks of practice for kids to realize where they could play more and earlier.

I think many like myself see huge size numbers and see LBer as a more likely possibility. However, I never thought Brandon Jacobs would be a college much less NFL rb with his size, and I was completely off there

There are exceptions to most rules.

And Brandon Jacobs may have been a hall of fame linebacker.

Ducre or White should definitely move to LB. It needs to be sorted out. Both want to play RB, but both would be good LB's as well. It's good to have a big bruiser at RB, but we don't necessarily need two big bruiser RB's either.

Hopefully one displays more RB talent and the other shows more LB talent. Not sure which one would be better where. Coaches and player need to sort it out. Hopefully this spring.

Very few exceptions, but Derrick Henry is another. However I believe both would have been crazy good LBs.

James Wilder Jr missed out. He had a decent career at FSU as a RB, but his skills could have made him a head hunter and top draft pick at LB.

all you have to do to be a great linebacker is be big and fast. Haven't you read this thread?

Opposite of Derick Henry HOPEFULLY.

Although the Torch passing of Fournette->Guice->White doesn't sound bad either...

This will all get sorted out during spring ball. His LOI is in, and he'll be slaying poon next week.

He's listed as an athlete that's why I was saying that. I'm not suggesting Running Backs with LB size can play LB. I'm suggesting an Athlete recruited as a RB/LB to play LB.

He is a good catch regardless. I don't think he has any misunderstanding he is coming in a year where we have 5-6 great RB's. I can see him beating out 2-3 maybe because we haven't had a pure Downhill RB with his blend of size and speed since like never... I can see him playing a specialist role at RB his first year and probably on special teams as well.

And what someone said is valid, if he opens up to the whole LB position and has the football IQ, maybe he does play there as a freshman. He see's playing time vs. waiting time.

Either way we got a great athlete and he will find his place on the team...

Apparently he is very open to playing linebacker according the to the link:

"It's running back, but if God feels like I need to go to linebacker and need to go hit some people next year, then I will do that," he said. "I really don't have a preference right now. I just wanna play, and I just feel like that's where I wanna play at. And whatever it is, I'm gonna be happy with it, and I'm gonna understand the person.

"So if (running backs) coach Frank (Wilson) says, 'Hey, go in the defensive staff room,' I will be in there with no ifs, ands or buts about it."
