re: Custom Suits online?

It's cheap, buy one and then tell me I'm wrong. They have a large following and actually sold out of most of their suits over Christmas. My only knock against them is shipping times and customer service.

If you can make the trip into Houston, go to suit supply. It is an awesome experience to get fitted for a suit there.
All the chicks that work there are gorgeous, and they are quite liberal with some nice bourbon to serve while you are getting fitted or shopping.

I've heard great things about them as well.

No "try hard" here and I could give a shite less whether you or anyone else is impressed by my wardrobe choices. I'm just all for being honest about things. Wanna wear cheap suits? Awesome. Wear them and be happy. Just don't call them something they aren't, namely "quality", etc.

Oliver Wicks These guys make a nice suit at a fairly reasonable price especially for custom suits. The way they have you do your measurements really gets things right.
I am in a suit every work day. Oliver Wicks has been very good to me.
Re: Jos A Bank: It's more about fit than quality in regards to them for me. I just couldn't make it work there. If you can find the right fit at Jos A or something that requires limited tailoring, go with it. The main thing with a suit is getting the right fit. It trumps quality. You can look great in a less quality suit if the fit is right. You can look like dog shite in a quality suit if the fit is wrong. The average person will not be able to tell if your suit is Super 100's or Super 150 fabric.

I forgot only expensive things can be made well. Thanks for reminding me.

I use Knot Standard. Love it.
Haven't used them yet, but want to. It is hard to make the jump from Oliver Wicks since they already have my measurements and info. It is super easy to go online and reorder from them.

Based on what you actually said above, I don't need to buy one or tell you that you are wrong. I agree with "It's cheap." You seem to be saying what I am saying.
A $200 suit is cheap, period. You can't make a quality suit for $200, much less make a profit. You CAN make a cheap suit that people might be happy wearing. That would be an accurate description of the suits you posted a link to.
If you are happy with them, fine. Wear them. Just call them what they actually are.

Why are you so offended about what other guys wear?

Not necessarily. But a $200 suit doesn't meet the definition of something that's inexpensive, but made well, and with quality materials. It's not possible, economically speaking, unless they got the materials for free, have zero overhead and sell millions of suits per year (economies of scale).

Go to nordstroms or saks and try on a bunch of brands in the $800 to $2600 range. Find which brand fits you best off the rack and then order that brand and cut somewhere online as they go on sale.
I'm a Hugo Boss 42R and I've acquired 7 suits this way over the past 2.5 years - just be patient and you'll have as many well-fitted ~$1500 suits for about $600 each before you know it. The jackets fit me perfectly and I get the pants tailored and that's it.
Some of them are slimmy and work appropriate while cool and some are fitted and nightlife appropriate

Well, yes necessarily according to your posts. You have admittedly never tried these suits, but you seem to be able to speak to their quality based solely off cost.

Without trying it on, you have no way of knowing.

You're still trying too hard. How's about you just let it go and we all agree your taste in suits is impeccable. Will that stroke your ego enough?

I'm not offended in the least. I'm simply opposed to intellectual dishonesty. Cheap suits are cheap suits. You can be happy wearing them and they may meet your criteria for acceptability. But they are still cheap suits.
Driving this car might be acceptable to you, but it's still a cheaply made car. It has 4 wheels, an engine, and will get you from Point A to Point B (maybe), but it's not a "quality" car.

Say the guy that "could give a shite" and ignores the entirety of sentences to try to make a point. Yea, you're a real intellectual.

You've typed plenty of words without actually saying anything. And you continue to demonstrate that you believe smugness and smartassery carry value when discussing an opposing point of view.

Go to a Haberdashery and tell them what you can afford and they will make it happen. A lot of times they can order something in if they don't have that price range and will make sure that the pattern and fit is right for you.

Actually I've said I disagree with your view and find you to be pompous. You should have been able to figure that out.

Right, the smug person in this conversation isn't the one turning their nose up to a suit they've never worn while claiming to be bale to speak to it's quality.
ETA: And don't worry, you can have the last word in this.

This works just be careful with how you approach it. A lot of clothing companies will have there clothes made in two different places and send the better stuff to different locations. I know with suits some will be glued and you don't want that. For example your Hugo Boss suit is glued.

If you would through a "made" in there you would be accurate. There is plenty of well made suits for not as well known names yet for good prices. There is also a ton of high dollar pieces of shite that people buy thinking it's the greatest ever and wonder why it never fits like the picture.

Just re-read this thread and see that you are being a douche bag. There is plenty of really good options that are not really expensive but are also not cheap. You are one of the idiots who buys something because it is expensive and thinks it is the best while turning your nose up to everything else. Some people cannot afford to go drop hundreds and thousands on a suit yet so why bash them for trying to look good and move up?
