I work in Comm. Cyber Security. Lots of opportunity on the outside and the AirForce will give him several certs that'll make him marketable if he decides to separate.
My friends who are maintainers and security forces hate their lives. Air Traffic Controller is another good job. Lots of schooling after basic training. Tell him to be straight forward with his recruiter about what he dose t want to do. He'll offer to ship him out quick if he takes maintenance, secfo, or services.
