They are really good, but the best I ever ate was from the old Muffalettos of S.foster in BR way back in the 60's theu 80's

Muffaletto's were the best. Try the ones from Pimanyoli's on Airline near Barringer Foreman if you haven't already, they are very similar. They only have them Wed-Sat but they're very good, I picked up 4 dozen yesterday

Tamales taste like alpo and cornmeal.

Tamales at Christmas are very popular in San Antonio, and it's spread to Dallas and elsewhere in Texas. I saw a recent article about a Dallas shop that sells many thousands of dozens during the holidays.
It's caught on a bit even in Shreveport. I bought 3 dozen the other day that I called to reserve, and the dude in front of me bought all the others in the shop. They were making a huge batch the next day. Had a sign to reserve your Christmas tamales early.

Sounds like someone talking about soccer.

Oh, are tamales on Christmas a thing?

The only real tamales come from Zwolle, son.

In my travel, Indians eat a hell of a lot more tamales than Mexicans.
This. My grandmother is part Native American, from Zwolle, and cooks tamales a few times a year.
I had one tamale last night, I would have had more but I was miserably full after eating the other types of food.
