Dry brining a pork butt?

Got a 10 lb. pork butt for $5 this weekend. I wasn't planning on it but couldn't pass up the deal. I usually just rub them and cook but was thinking about doing a dry brine that is not "bbq" flavor based. Any thoughts or experience?

Has plenty of fat. Does not need a brine. Season liberally and enjoy.

I rub with 1/3 cup of sugar and 1/3 cup kosher salt over night, then reseason the next day minus sugar and salt. That is a simple brine really.

Winn-Dixie had them for $5 with any $30 purchase this weekend. Might still be going on....
