One thing that stood out in the "Gentry Playbook" highlight vid people linked to over the summer was the center being able to either pass or attack from about 10 feet out. It stood out because we didn't have any centers that could do that. That's something David Lee should be able to do, no? Might make a good Ryno replacement if you can get value for Ryno. Like that hypothetical Budinger, Hill and 2 picks plus the return of QPon both gives you enough shooting to "replace" Ryno and make Gordon somewhat expendable. Could we get more than 2nds out of Boston for EG?

doubtful...they are hoarding for a star
but, how about this?
BOS clears a frontcourt logjam, gets a 3pt shooter for this year's run
NOP gets a passing big, plus an asik replacement & a cheap young PF

gordon & gee to BOS
lee, zeller & mickey to NOP

now, NOP can move anderson for a real asset (a SF or a pick)and can play a center next to davis who can run a PNR

While playing him next to Davis would be nice on offense, David Lee is 32 and as bad as Anderson on defense. Not much of an answer beyond the next 6 months.

And here's another question- if they think Davis will be a 5 more frequently, isn't he the passing big? Remember that Lowe article from a couple years ago- using Davis from the elbow to facilitate a la Dirk. Seems like that is the plan, even though Davis has had a rough go of it in that role this year.
