When did you tell your kids Santa Claus didn't exist?

My brother's kid is 7 years old and was at his friend's house playing. He saw gifts under their Christmas tree with his friend's name on it, so he asked if Santa Claus came early. His friend's parents told him that Santa Claus doesn't exist and that the gifts were from them. Am I crazy for thinking that it should be the parents to tell their own children about Santa Claus' existence rather than someone else? Also how old do you tell a child Santa Claus doesn't exist?

I would challenge the kids dad to a fight at Sonic and show up dressed as Santa Clause
"Santa brought an arse whipping this year"

What kind of fricked up people does your brother let his kid around?
I wouldn't have to beat anyone's arse over something like this. If a random frick told my little kids Santa wasn't real my wife would fricking destroy them.

For as long as they can.
Kid's friends parents are pretty shitty for doing that..

Anyway you can edit this thread please? Several buddies of mine young kids lurk this board and they still believe in Santa. I know they aren't the only kids that read this board either.
So if you don't mind please edit this topic. Thanks

It should be up to the parents to tell their kids they've been lying to them.

The boy at 7 (he had it figured out), then he told his 4 year old sister all about it. That got him an hour timeout. She got over it in less than an hour.

We just told my 12 year old. Better he hear it from us than some mean little frickers in the hallway at school. Middle school kids can be ruthless. He took it very well. He promised not to tell his 10 and 8 year old brothers.

He is. He's just not a fat man in a red suit.

That's a dick move for sure, but one of my 6 year olds has pretty much figured it out. It's pretty sad, actually.

Nope, just lucked out. He took it so well that he may have been hearing things already.

Those parents aren't cool. Reminds me of when my kid went to a friend's house about that age and the Mom and friend starting talking about Harry Potter was the devil and promoted sorcery. No Christian should read or go to those movies. My kid never went back to that house and we cooled to the parents.
