A mass layoff is taking place. Employee goes talk with manager who doesn't just assure him his job is safe, he tells employee he will be moved into a new role in which he will become salaried. Then tops off the conversation with "as long as the company is running, you will have a job so you don't have to worry about your job status after each project" Two months later, when the last round of layoffs were taking place manager calls employee in office to inform him he is being laid off. Does this fall under what you are looking for in this thread?
