I wouldn't feel bad for firing someone if they did something that required that action. Laying someone off because the company can't afford their salary anymore would blow all kinds of dick.

Fired one motherfricker about three hours before his probationary period ended. Didn't return from his break.
The HR bitch, who acted more like a union rep, bitched about me not firing him earlier if I was going to fire him. He didn't frick up enough to be fired before then.
