No. I would not take 15 years of anything and label it "elite". To me elite is a much longer term thing.
Look, I agree LSU has had some great years and since 2011 things have been sub-standard. I also think the early draft attrition has as much to do with our current state of affairs as Miles' coaching abilities (or inabilities depending on how you view him).
When I look at Miles' body of work at LSU I see a very good overall record. I see periods of ebbs and flows.
If you ask me about elite programs in the country in no particular order I would say schools like Notre Dame, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, and Michigan to me it is schools with more than 3 - 4 titles all time.
If you narrow it to your window of since 2000 it is probably only Alabama as an Elite program. That is likely the biggest problem for many except they won't admit it. Alabama and Nick Saban are at an unbelievable level right now. It is like they are immune to the parity brought about with the scholarship limits.
