I think it is a mental disorder. I think some people's brains are just wired differently and can't stop drinking without help. I don't think it is a disease like cancer for example. Maybe it is just semantics....

I don't think it is a disability as we have come to use the word. Paraplegics are disabled. People with Down's Syndrome are disabled. They have something physically or mentally wrong that cannot be treated.

I've seen too many addicts get help and solve their problems.
