quote:When the B1G expands, if they can't get anyone else on the eastern seaboard, do you think they will just take ISU and Kansas and say frick it? Those seem like the only two AAU schools left that would make some geographical sense.
Iowa has no hand in picking their conference schedule. None.
Iowa is essentially mandated to play Iowa State. Many fans would be fine dropping the game to get other Power Fives, but then people would bitch about Iowabeing afraid to play little bro -- it is ISUs biggest fundraiser. Many seem to forget this a Big 12 school when lambasting Iowa's schedule.
That said, Iowa played more power five teams than any SEC school this season.

Kansas has a KState problem, and a football disease.
Iowa State would only be considered practical if a move sixteen were necessary and other options did not exist. I could see them breaking geography before inviting a school with no media allure and no fans.
Really depends on what kind of deal they can broker here with the new TV rights. they get paid as much as anyone from old deals, whereas everyone else is working from more recent contracts.
