Excellent post. You summed up most of my concerns with Les, that were present long before we started this decline in 2012.

Les wants to be players' coach. You can discipline player action (on and off the field) and still be a players' coach (Urban Meyer, Pete Carroll, etc.). These guys aren't Nick Saban intense, but their players are afraid of the consequences of doing stupid things on and off the field. This lack of discipline and attention to detail has concerned me for a long time. Prior to 2007, we were head and shoulders more talented than most teams in the SEC West, that is not the case today and the lack of discipline and attention to detail are starting to become more obvious.

Did you really just talk about the discipline doled out by Pete Carroll and Urban?

Fully agree. A team's demeanor more often than not reflects that of its coach. When was the last time this team showed an elevated level of intensity as a whole and played to actually beat an opponent and not just not lose or protect a lead? I'm not talking about individual celebrations or spirit. Compare that and Miles' sideline emotion and involvement along with the top tier coaches around. I know I'll be eviscerated by the worshipers here, but the intensity just does not seem to be there. That and Miles already claiming that no real change is needed is not encouraging.
