fascinating discussion about vacuums and the 80's, but please answer his question.

You claimed they cut the shite out of the school but spending went up every year.

Clearly net spending growth - not a cut.

Nice pivot to explain why they need to spend more but crawfish back to the cut the shite out of argument and explain

If this is going to go the route of a political conversation, the first thing any governor does is shite down suno(why keep this idiot warehouse open?)and merge some of these directional schools. Very low hanging fruit in regards to saving, but costly in the political patronage it would cut out.

They have closed/consolidated 60 programs, per LSU.

I'm not an expert in LSU's budget but I would imagine the small increases in the total budget year over year are largely due to salaries for existing faculty. They have done hiring freezes but I don't know if they've done salary freezes. And if they did, there would be consequences to that in terms of retention and quality of faculty who decide to stay (as played out in the past).

At any rate, it appears the pendulum is swinging back now. John Bel will restore some funding next year.

But we'll be right back here again. History doesn't repeat, but it does rhyme.
