“After the type of budget battle we went through this past spring we certainly do not need to be throwing tens of millions of dollars around under certain circumstances,” he says. “We don’t need to go into the next legislative session with a black eye that we’re throwing tens of millions of dollars around on issues that aren’t associated with academic progress.”

“The public at large really doesn’t differentiate where the money comes from,” he says. “No matter how you explain it, it’s still a $15 million to $25 million decision that needs to be factored into the overall equation.”

Now we find out exactly why Miles was kept. Politicking by this chode.

I thought people knew that, nearly officially, on Saturday night?

I've thought the F. King Alexander part of the story was true; I also think it's true that Alleva probably told Miles he was safe BEFORE the A&M game but Miles didn't believe him.

There's so much fail in this statement. Private donors were going to inject money and an improvement into the schools main source of income and they turned it down so they could play the poor LSU card at the next legistative session. This is why poors stay poor.

And now theyve doubled down on stupid by admitting they really didnt want to keep Miles, they just didnt want to look like they were spending a lot to replace him.
