Was also the #9 overall Pro-Style QB. Etling looks pretty good on all his video and appears very accurate. Why is Etling not being talked about more? He sure looks to be more talented than any other QB on LSUs roster. I know Etling couldn't play this season because of NCAA transfer rules but Is he being overlooked on this board for some reason?

He's not dual threat
Yea he doesn't fit into Miles' offense...except, he does

He should get a legitimate look in the Spring.

I read this board fairly often and haven't noticed this young man discussed much at all. This board seems to only want to talk about negatives and simply bash all things LSU. This young man appears to be very talented and is on campus now but everyone seems to believe he is just a camp arm. Why?

I don't see how switching QB's every single season would be a positive thing.

Andddd he got benched on a horrible Purdue team.
And people talk about him too much on here.

Have a feeling Etling will compete and battle Harris late into fall camp next year

Based on the horrible play of Harris changing QBs in mid-game is acceptable.

Not sure how continuing to play failed ones would be either.
If Harris can't make it happen early next season, I would hope McMillan or Etling get a shot. Evidently AJ has been written off.

And once he's the starter Les will install the spread...

I don't see how having terrible QB play every year is positive either. That's why you try everything and everyone you can. Give someone a chance that can play and has experience. At least you can say you tried. Etling has experience and that's what we desperately need at the QB position. We don't need someone to be elite just serviceable and hit open receivers.

I don't know, looks like a short side option qb

Just reminds me of Rob boldens situation. Bolden came here and was a starter at Penn State of all schools and didn't smell the field over Jennings who was very bad. Etling was benched at Purdue which is worse than Penn State. Just hope people aren't reaching for something that's not there. I hope he is good though.

..............for the same reason that Dak Prescott would have been a linebacker at L.S.U. For some reason (with a few exceptions) L.S.U. has rarely had a productive offense. The ghost of Charley Pevey...............

The boys that defend Harris have an agenda...

He's not in the spot light yet because he has to sit out a year . If he's halfway as good as advertised he would be perfect for this offense
