Going back to this.
A GMC Canyon well equipped z71 runs around $35,000 while a GMC Sierra 1500 well equipped z71 runs closer to $48,000.
That's a big difference in my book. I don't have a dog in the fight but I understand some guys prefer midsize if they drive in a city, want better gas mileage, tow medium payloads, and don't need the extra size.
I'm just glad the Taco now has a serious competitor.

I just went over 10,000 miles in my 15' Colorado crew cab 4x4. Only "issue" is wiith the programming of the shift points from the factory, which they have modified with the latest reflash.
Solid vehicle with lots of power, great mileage and a ride thats light years better than the Tacoma.
I should know since I traded my o8 Tacoma DC 4x4 Sport in for this one.
