Yep. Same thing can happen if a detail page was originally listed by a third party seller. When you create the page you can enter whatever you want for the MSRP and that's what they use to calculate the "savings". If the third party seller is creating a new listing, that usually means the product isn't already in their database. Later, if it's a popular item, Amazon starts selling it themselves and they just run with the original MSRP no matter how outlandish.
