This^^^.
Setting an ultimatum of an SECW title is ridiculous. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it. Saban operates on a different level than the rest of the college football world. It's a fact that people just have to accept. So many factors, including a bit of luck, go into putting together a championship season. Notre Dame is a perfect example this year. Their 2 loss season is literally 2 plays from being an undefeated season. It was the same way in Mett's final year here - that Georgia game could have gone either way, and if we win there and get a couple other breaks it's a different season.
Being in the hunt late in the season, with a legit run every few years is all anyone should ask for. Anything less is ludicrous, and one simply has to look at college football history to see that (unless your thoughts are clouded by an outlier like Saban). As I said in another thread, how many SEC coaches in the modern era have won more than one national championship?
I am grateful that Les has won 1, played for another, and has the talent in place to make another run next season (with a top rated recruiting class to follow).

They also lost their starting quarterback and were down to their 3rd string RB this weekend. And they still played like beasts.
I get what you're saying but Brian Kelly is looking like a top 3 coach right now.
