Because they read TD and believed the "inside" information that the deal was done. I don't understand how anyone can backtrack on done deal. Obviously there was no contract, verbal or written, with Jimbo, so there was no done deal. Intense negotiations do not equal done deal.

And again, that makes Miles an even bigger dumbass than most people already believe he is. What person would read the news about their job, and not go directly to their employer and ask what the hell is going on?
You don't think he did that, but instead believed the news? It's obvious that something was going on, or like Chicken said, none of that parading around worship would have been happening.
