Look at it this way......

1. Georgia is getting a new coach, likely Kirby.
2. Kirby will leave the stout Bama defense vulnerable.
3. Kiffin will soon leave, although I'm sure Saban won't let 2 assistants leave at once.
4. Our recruiting class may end up number 1, 2, or 3 at the worst case scenario.
5. Enough pressure was put on Miles that we'll likely see some changes on both sides of the ball, even if just slightly.
6. A huge number of these stars return next year.

you had me until I saw number 5. But hey, anything is possible.

Well if that be the case.....
We know that a WORSE loss year would cause the boosters to be back in this position, with angry fans in tow this time.
We either get surprisingly better, or no-surprisingly worse.

Nick Saban has won 4 national titles without Lane Kiffin by his side. He'll be aight.

Already answered by another poster, but i want to second it.

Kiffin and Kirby gone and it's possible Saban is as well.

Let me go on record and say that Travin will likely come back next year, according to a family member today.
The injury hurt combine prospects, mixed with NFL stock. One more year invested doesn't hurt.

if change does happen then it's sad that it took this to make it happen.

Travin's probably my favorite player to watch on this team. Sucks that he got injured, I hope whoever plays QB next year doesn't leave the WRs hanging out dry as much.

Nick Saban is the best defensive mind in CFB.

He was bummed at the store. The rumors about Les were flying Saturday. He was hurt. He didn't even wanna play football. One day makes a difference, and his mom wants him to finish his education.....regardless.
Now, he can work hard at PR in the offseason. The surgery went good. And he has another year to try and get good stats for the NFL.
At the very least.....an education to take into the working world.

How bad was the injury? Complete tear?
I don't recall how well he was able to get off the field, but I don't remember him having to use crutches any when he came back out on the sideline for the 2nd half.

Add the fact that Bama is losing their QB, probably top 2 RBs, and a hell of a lot of their defense. Ole Mis is losing their dream team class. State losing Dak. Auburn is still Auburn. I hate saying "next year" as much as anyone but there really are good reasons for optimism. And if it doesn't work out Miles is likely gone. So it's a win-win for negas.

The tear musta been worse when he went in. He has a small scar now. Not TOO damn big. A couple of inches. This family member said "Nothing permanent stopping him from playing".
He can work at it and get back, but I fear he'll favor it. And we all know what hamstring injuries do. They nag all season. The kid has a 50/50 shot comparing to where he was. Strong rehab is gonna determine it. The Locals here are just trying to get his hopes back up. Les staying helps.
