How can a writer be so blind and not realize the decline. We just beat a crappy TAMU team.

What does that have to do with whether you can be a fan of both Les Miles and LSU? I think that if there isn't a significant uptick in wins next year, Miles will be done. I expect him to retire in the next 3 years (no sources, just a hunch) anyway. The athletic department needs to have a plan on how to handle that situation, if we lose 3 or more next year, better than they did this year.

But I'll still be a fan of Les Miles because he seems to be a great human being, because he seems to love LSU, and because LSU has had a great run with him as the coach.

I've usually been a fan of most LSU coaches with 2 exceptions.

One was Saban at the point of hire because I was afraid he would leave LSU in the same manor he left MSU. I became a fan because he was a good coach and did not fault have m for wanting to try the next level, even if I saw similarities in his departure from LSU. His return to Alabama and demeanor since then has soured me again. That would probably change if he became the LSU coach again, don't see that happening.

The other was Hallman, who I was hopeful about, primarily because of the fact that he had such a great offense at Southern Miss and developed a great QB. Turned out I had that one wrong (I make lots of mistakes) so by the end of his tenure, I was not a fan.
