What I keep coming back to is that either:
1. All you guys were full of crap and always have been.
Or
2. LSU has some incredibly stupid and unethical idiots involved at many levels of the football program, booster groups, and athletic department.
This whole thing...if it was true at all...fell apart because the people involved in it couldn't keep their traps shut. We have things were nobody knew much but some lone voice turned out to know something in the end. On this...EVERYBODY KNEW EVERYTHING. It's not "inside info" if the info is everywhere. The info we had here is the same that was on tigerbait...the same that was on 247...the same that was in the the Rabalais column...the same that came from Joe Schad...etc. LSU has to fix that problem. The average dude on a message board is always gonna want to know what's up. The guys at the top need to realize they need to shut their trap to their friends.
If the whole fire miles hire Jimbo thing was for real than what killed it was information control. That's on Alleva cause that's his job.

No. That's just not true. How did you come to that conclusion?
It fell apart because these things typically fall apart when you are trying to hire a NC winning coach away from a very good program.
It was the lack of recognition of the difficulty of that hire combined with a general incompetence/lack of commitment to making a change that resulted in what happened.
A good AD would have listened to the boosters and made sure that all money for the buyout was secured and not dependent on a specific hire. That's just not a feasible plan. Without that's trying of a commitment, you just can't move forward. If you get that commitment, then you start the entire hiring process. And when Jimbo falls through your #2 and #3 are already vetted and ready to go.
What happened was basically the worst case scenario. Alleva cut the legs out of the current head coach...and then failed to replace him.
