Forget all this QB talk, we have zero returning starting linebackers and very few decent subs. LSU must recruit 3 of the best available that can start immediately!

We need LBs and QBs. Should recruit at minimum 1-2 QBs a year.

We need All-SEC type LBs......not 'just' LBs

Best bet for short term is to recruit JUCO LBers. As of now Duke Riley, Voorhies and Donnie Alexander look to be the only returning LBers lol.

It doesn't help that we take linebackers and make them fullbacks either!

Immediate playing time should be a huge draw to at least three 4-5 star SEC ready LB's.

Embarrassed to say this, but I actually had hoped Clifford Chattman would evolve into a OLB for us. I was dissapointed he is gone

There aren't three 4-5 star linebackers interested in us.

Did somebody bump a November 2014 thread? It almost seems like deja vu up in here....

I'm no football coach so I'm ok if I get blasted for this, but could Neal be converted to ILB if Beckwith goes? He's a 6'1 DE with no future at that position at the next level (he's no Dwight Freeney), so why not give it a whirl? He looks very similar in body type to KB - w/ longer arms. We're gonna need some beef in the middle as D. Alexander & D. Riley are just to small to hold up to power running teams.

Not out of the question and good point. The main priority is to hold on to Erick Fowler. He should be our ILB next year if Beckwith goes. He is a stud and college ready. Also, is it possible Fiest returns?

It took Beckwith two years to catch on to the ILB position. You think a Freshman is going to come in and handle that position right away?

This has been my grip with the recruiting in the last half decade. We don't recruit enough qb's, we don't recruit enough lb's and we don't recruit enough linemen.

Instead we recruit so many RB's, WR's and DB's. that we are top heavy there and great players leave in those positions because they can't see the field because someone better is ahead of them.

We need to recruit for every position

HAHA, no it did not

Chavis and Miles were saying that and playing the slow white dude from Crowley... Beck was ready to be 10X better than their pet starter.

We have a few studs now in Fowler, Thorton and Divinity but we need at least 2 more studs and I hope we end up with Ben Davis and McCullouch or even the stud from IMG at Inside Backer. Hell with those 5-6 I would be ready for battle

I still don't know why Garrett left. Hopefully we can pick up D. Jackson to go with Fowler and Divinity and someone like Riley steps up. But yeah, we need to be recruiting QBs, DTs and LBs the next few years.

Beckwith should be coming back. It wouldn't be smart for him to leave early
