They dont grasp that this is a firing, not a parting of ways

They dont want LSU nabbing a top tier coach, just so that can say

They actually pine for Jimbo to be playing us for a raise

Yet think Mils was justified when he played LSU multiple times

They actually think that 10 wins in a 14 game season is elite. 10 wins doesn't even get you to the SECG anymore

I dont think anyone is an les fan over lsu....i know some people are crazy for acting like our most succesful coach ever wasnt the miserable time many are acting like it was.
And more people after these 3 losses finally felt justified after years of saying he sucked so they could finally say i told you so.

Bull
fricking
shite.

I'm all LSU. Doesn't mean I have to like how our fan base is acting with this nor how its been handled.

Some of you are just unreal. Respect what the man has done here and give him a proper goodbye. Is that really all that hard to understand for the mature adults around here, who seem to be few and far between

I'm not sold on Jimbo being top tier coach. I'm afraid it may be a lateral move.

If all LSU fans and boosters had half the class that Les has there wouldnt be so much vitriol between the two sides.

It may be time to part ways, but the fans and the the university should be damn thankful for having had Les Miles here for the past 11 years. The man has represented and helped grow the brand of LSU with signity and class and he deserves a little fricking respect.

No. Just no.

Even Les fans see that we need to move on. Just don't necessarily like seeing Les get torn down on the way out.

"Les Miles has more 10 win seasons that any other coach in LSU history."

Of course he does, he has played 13 games in most of those seasons.

One good thing about this thread, I'll have a list of posters who wont be able to complain about how many games the next coach loses

Maybe so, and maybe it is justified, but that case hasn't been made by the administration in a public fashion - just a snake-in-the-grass leak by Joe "I fricked up the Duke Lacrosse Scandal badly, but still got hired by LSU" Alleva.

I want the absolute best for LSU. Which is why, unlike some fans, I don't root against the team during a slump to get a coaching change.

Nope. Just calling it like I see it. Since this is done, I really hope I'm wrong about it.

All coaches do this. Miles less than most. Sexton clients (hint, Saban and Fisher), do it most consistently of all.

Miles averaged over 10 1/2 wins through 9 seasons.

There has been a drop off. There are problems with the team. I don't deny this.

Obviously you mean total wins - which of course is a meaningless statistic for divisional and conference standings and placement in the championship game. There are only 8 conference games - and you play all divisional opponents. If you win all 8 of those conference games, you're in the SEC-CG.

On the other hand, Florida could have gone to the SEC-CG with as few as 6 wins in 2015. They have 10 wins now and tomorrow's game has no impact on that. They could lose it by 70 points and go to the SEC-CG with 10 wins (7 in conference play and they only needed 6, as long as they didn't lose to UGA).

While we're talking about it - Florida is at 10-1 - trying to recall to whom they lost.
