so i missed brad wing..So it actually was a fair a match up as possible except LSU has home field advantage(pretty much). 17 LSU and 17 Bama and guess who got blown out and out coached?

You obviously weren't there if you think that. LSU fans saw dollar signs and sold out. There were probably closer to 60% Bama fans in the Superdome that day

The Dome was about 45% Bama fans. There was no home field advantage.

The number of future pros is meaningless. Jarvis and Odell, for example, were true freshmen who were not NFL caliber players at that time. Jarvis didn't even get one play on offense.

So let me get this straight. If a team has more future pros than thier opponent they should always win. Awesome, we don't even need to play the games anymore. So Saban must suck because he lost to Ole Miss the last 2 years and Auburn and OK a couple of years ago. There's no doubt there is an obvious correlation between talent and success but it's far from absolute.

The poster who noted we lacked high level OL talent makes s good point.
