In my limited experience, there seems to be a decent amount of companies out there run by senile old farts who have no idea how much of the company is basically run by their employees. These types wouldn't even know how to look for someone with computer skills because they themselves can't do it.
The president of the company I worked for straight out of college used to call me from his iPhone for directions to places when he was out.

Our Nashville store called me one day to tell me they had an email I needed to read. I said fine, no problem, just forward it to me. The response was awesome "I don't know how to do that but I will try"
30 min later I got a 4 page fax of the email.
Or sometimes I will call and tell them to check their email and the responses are grand. Well, I am out running errands and the computer I get emails on is at the office.
