It is the manager's responsibility to determine the worth of an employee. It has been my experience that young computer savvy people often lack patience not only with older employees, but also with customers. An older, more experienced employee, in certain jobs, often can reassure a customer better, and almost always is more patient. It just depends on the job and the skills or knowledge required.
