Why? It is by far the best rifle for the job that I have for him. He has practiced with it and can shoot it very well.
It is not a .223.
The suppressor tightens the groupings and I don't have to worry about him hurting his ears.
It's a weapon just as any bolt or lever action and since it's a newer design I'd say it's better.
And exactly what is an "assault rifle"

What my brother started his kid on. Was small for his age and dropped two with it before he moved up.
