Thinking about going camping up there next week around the holidays -- do the trees still have color or is it mostly brown this year? Any other tips or recommendations for the Ozarks/NW AR area?

You may as well continue north to Missouri

WTF kind of question is this? Even if they do live in Arkansas, nobody is going to admit it. They might as well say, "Yes, I frick my sister."

By the time this storm system moves through there won't be much color left. Peak was a few weeks ago. But the creeks and waterfalls should be flowing good. The elk rut has already peaked as well but the herds are still easy to see from your vehicle in the Boxley Valley area. As far as tips or recommendations, can you be a little more specific as to what you are looking for? Hiking, canoeing, etc..

I'm camping this weekend in SW Missouri, and based upon the forecast I have seen, you better plan for cold weather. Highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's.

The recent storms have pretty well stripped all the leaves.

Color peaked in late October, and it wasn't much this year anyway.

Wind and storms this last week will ensure there's nearly no leaves left at all by the weekend.

Even in Winter, it's beautiful in the Ozarks.

Blanchard Springs Caverns. Not sure if it closes in winter or not, but it's one of my favorite places in Arkansas. Not just the caverns, the whole area.
