I tried it with both of my cats. It didn't scare them AT ALL. They just calmly went and inspected it, and then dismissed it. I don't even like cucumbers, and I bought one specifically to scare the frick out of my cats. What the hell.

Lured a cat to come hang out with me with a slice of ham then quickly replaced it with a cucumber. It didn't freak out. Just looked really disappointed in me.
