EXCELLENT first response... that was the one I came to post when I saw the topic.

Dude was 9-2 (regular season) and fired BEFORE the bowl game because he was deemed not good enough to follow the Osborne legend.

And they're still looking. A demand for excellence is fine, but a coaching search is always dicey. Timing and blind luck play so much of a part. When Miles goes- no matter when that is- it won't nearly be as some fans think- that we can just snap our fingers and the best will line up. It just doesn't happen that way very often regardless of the school. Ask USC, Texas, Nebraska, Miami, Tennessee.... Heck ask Bama how many times they blew it until Saban fell in their laps.
