I would love to take a vacation to Dubai. The place looks amazing on Google Earth. How safe is it over there for Americans?

Very, just do not bring any drugs at all. A Jamaican man got 28 years in prison because a marijuana seed was stuck in his shoe.

It's safe as long as:

-You don't go into debt
-You aren't brought in for slave labor
-You aren't caught being promiscuous on the beach

It is safe, but I found it sort of boring. You hang out in hotels or the malls most of the time. If you want to go someplace amazing while in Dubai then check out Al Maha. My wife and I spent one night out there as part of our honeymoon. We had a two bedroom royal suite with a private pool (subtle brag).

Super safe. You can open carry alcohol on the street, curse like a sailor, and make out with women in public all day long. Its Bourbon Street meets Las Vegas with a tiny bit of Riyadh mixed in.
