palmero is the capital, but the entire island is run by the mafia. all of it. every little town, village, city, everything

every bar, nightclub, café, bodega, grocery, beach property, you name it, they have a hand in it.

you frick around and make trouble for a business under their protection, they'll kick the shite out of you before you have the chance to get arrested.

A LOT of old timers say it was better back then too. Imagine if a restaurant under mob protection was robbed, the robbers would be floating in the lake withing a week.

I know it's definitely still around, I just never was able to pinpoint it where I frequently visit in Vizzini.

My uncle was involved in the late 80's. It's way too long of a story for one post, but he pretty much was the link between the base exchanges electronic department and the mafia. I'm not gonna say how, but he was making a hefty profit on a lot of name brand shite that the Sicilian's couldn't afford to import. He has all sorts of stories of the open tabs he had at every disco around Comiso.

I think that's why my mom never worried about me growing up. There was no way I could have been involved in half the shite my uncle was from 16-24.
