Just pay it and slow down.

Why does everyone come here with this "help me I broke the law and want an easy way out" crap?

You broke the law, man up and suffer the consequences.

You sound like a real winner.

You ever pass through Baton Rouge? What do you drive?

Pay a lawyer to get a dismissed. Always worked for me. My driving record is shiny clean despite getting pulled over for all sorts of stuff.

You have to pay a lawyer to get a speeding ticket fixed?

I was hoping to take an approved driving school class where I am now and send them the certificate. But I have no idea if that can be done in AL

Look, like I said before, that's not necessary. I've gotten my fair share of speeding tickets. I do the same thing every time. Call the number on the ticket, tell them you have a clean record and ask it to be moved to a non moving violation. They may give you the number to the DA or some other agency, but they will almost always work with you if you pay the maximum fine.

I'll be coming into Baton Rouge Saturday for the game bro. You wanna stop and arrest me officer?

Probably throw in a few "resisting arrests" and beat me up or shoot me huh. Pig.

that's hard to say

i'd plead, no contest AKA nolo contendre = I cannot defend against the charge and then request traffic court etc

nolo contendre is also not admitting guilt

I have no idea what an 18mph over limit brings these days

Call the county prosecutor's office and ask if you can have the charge reduced to a non-moving violation. You'll have to pay a fine and take an on-line defensive driving course but it won't go against your insurance.

Just call the clerk of court, or write the sheriff. They almost always just want the money, and drop the charge.

Like I said, call the court and find out what it takes. To them it is just daily routine, they aren't going to conduct a public flogging.

And speeding isn't necessarily unsafe either. I got caught by a speeding camera doing 55 on an isolated country road that was straight as an arrow, with open fields on both sides for a mile in either direction, not a soul anywhere. But for some reason the posted limit was 30 and so they posted a camera there. The fine was $40, clearly it was a case of "just pay us the money and we'll forget about it".
