PSA- Found - money clip with a significant amount of money

at one of the gate entrances to the BAMA/LSU game. There are initials on the money clip and would like to help return the clip and money to the rightful owner.
IF you or know someone who lost this, POST HERE and include the description and initials on the money clip. I will check back from time.
If after a few weeks and no one claims this, money will be donated to a local charity.
thanks.

It was mine! It was mine!

Why didn't you turn it into BAMA lost and found or campus police?
The likelihood of the person who lost it being a TigerDroppings reader < the person making a report to BAMA authorities.

Doing what is right. Excellent character.

Doing what is right would be turning it over to BAMA PD.
It's easy to donate someone else's money to charity.

It's sucks to have to say this, but I would never turn in a significant amount of money to a lost and found.
"Did someone turn in a brown wallet?"
"Yeah, here it is."
"There was $300 in it when I lost it"
"Oh, it didn't have any money in it when it was turned in. Sorry."
The OP is ensuring that the owner has a chance to get his money back. Unfortunately, you can't necessarily trust lost and found folks to be virtuous angels.

I never said he didn't post elsewhere.
Here's an example: My 86 year old dad never reads message boards. If it had been him losing the money, he'd never reclaim it.
OP should contact UAPD and Lost and Found and tell them that he found a money clip and tell them that the person claiming it must identify the initials engraved on it.
This wasn't a "brown wallet" find.

This was a unique money clip not a brown wallet.

The bills aren't unique. That's my point.

Yes but if your dad had lost his money clip I'm sure he'd tell you about it and you'd say, oh yeah did it have initials engraved in it? I saw a post on a message board about it. You just proved that it reaches further than just the folks who post here.
