So this came across my Facebook feed a little while ago, thought I would pass it along. It's a challenge to tiger fans to donate $1 for every point scored by lsu this weekend to the charity sid's family asked for donations from in his obituary. Please help spread the word to tiger fans all around by sharing the Facebook page, or tweeting using #give4sid.

I don't know if I can afford that much.
I hope that's true, but I'm in anyway.

That is a good idea and an easy one but if the Tiger faithful really want to honor this Tiger angel that is now back with God. Here is what will make the biggest impact and I can promise everyone he would love it.
An LSU scholarship for a cancer survivor would be the most appropriate.
I can tell you this from someone whose son is battling brain cancer right now. If you have never had a family member go through cancer I am here to tell you the expenses are unbelievable and they can drain literally everything you have.
My son was hoping to play baseball for LSU and he was literally on pace to have a shot at it, switch hitting catcher with a pop time just under 2. He made the 15U Team USA - San Diego International to play in Nagoya, Japan this summer and one week before the trip of his lifetime we went into Rady's Hospital here in San Diego, CA and 8 hours later he was in emergency brain surgery to remove a 5 cm tumor from his brain, and then a follow up surgery 30days later. You wouldn't believe the expenses involved.
If you truly want to honor Sid, do a scholarship in his name for a cancer survivor that is the best way to honor that beautiful young tiger whose life was cut too short.
God Bless
One last thing - I HATE CANCER!!!!!!!!

Dude... Bro..... I don't have the know how, the organizational skills, or the time to do all that. Hell, this Facebook page wasn't my idea either. The extent of my involvement is donating $49 :fingerscrossed:, and passing along what I thought was a cool idea to my fellow rant posters

All I am trying to do is give alternatives to honor Sid, that is all.

I understand what you think you are trying to do and I hate that you have to deal with cancer and the repercussions to you family and son, I am the father of 4 and hate the idea of anyone dealing with these issues with our children.
That being said, Sid's family are the only ones who can determine what is the most appropriate memorial for Sid.
I'll be praying for you and you're son. I had a cousin that was lost to brain cancer about a decade ago

Agreed, and this is as a direct request from his obituary. Now we have an opportunity as a fan base to give in his name to whom the family decided was most deserving

Dude, your son is in my prayers this morning. I know he must be a fine young man and I certainly hope things go well and he makes a full recovery!
