There is no such thing as a bad job in the SEC (save Vandy). I don’t think SCAR is a tier 1 or tier 2 job within the conference, but I think they compare favorably to programs such as a K-State or Iowa. Not a lot of history, but have a few solid seasons in the last decade. SCAR has the money to spend, but I believe they are t-3rd best open job (with Maryland) at the moment. They need to lock up one of the big-2 (Herman or Fuente) before other teams start calling.

Not totally off base, but i'm a UGA alum and a BigTen football fan and i'd put USC over Iowa and KState any day. Similar histories, but both Kansas and Iowa are talent poor as compared to South Carolina.
Plus, its the SEC east. USC is a good job now and the coaches they have gotten to fill it the past 2 times its been open really bear that out.
