And it's a stupid and incredibly insensitive point. The Birmingham community decided to show support for Sid, an LSU fan, by decorating the neighborhood in purple and gold. Social media picked up on it, and many people were touched by the beautiful struggle and support for this amazing young man. The cause grew into what we've all been fortunate to witness these past months. Yet some of you idiots somehow feel compelled to argue that Sid's story isn't worthy of the attention because, sadly, other families have suffered the same fate without the same attention. If you are in this camp, you are a pathetic person.

Insensitive to whom? Sid's family or the families being ignored?

It's not like I'm marching on the news and rubbing their faces in it. Also, look at the context:

People didn't bring this up in the big stickied thread up top. Its not like we are saying "Who cares?" in a memorial thread....and yet that is what your argument and attacks are tailored to.

You are posting in a thread where someone posted to start a grassroots to stick a helmet sticker/uniform change on the LSU team. And basically you are saying that any voice of disagreement of that proposal is insensitive and pathetic.

If the TEAM wanted to do it, I have no problem with it. But there is no reason to build any form of social media pressure on them to do it. It is none of our damn business what they do.

Going back to context about the thread these points are being brought up in....if his story moved you, head over to the thread where they were talking about setting up some kind of foundation/fund/endowment/scholarship in his name.
