Hi, I am a basketball coach and teacher at a Catholic high school in Missouri. A couple weeks ago our principal gave every student, and faculty member, $10 to do something nice for someone. Some people paid for people's groceries, meals, brought flowers to nursing homes and etc.

Well, a coach I work with his wife works with students who can't leave their homes. There is one 9 year old boy that sticks out. The boy's name is Josiah, and has a rare skin disease called, epidermolysis bullosa. This disease is basically, from how it was described to me, he breaks out in blisters from just the slightest touch. A lot of times the children are called butterfly children. I have seen the blisters, and quite frankly it is very hard to look at. Due to the blisters he is forced to basically live at home. He doesn't get to go to a regular school, or play any sports.

There is one thing that this 9 year old enjoys, and it is LSU! My wife, and I, are traveling to Baton Rouge to watch the Tigers take on Arkansas. So, us three coaches, decided to combine our $10 to buy him some type of gift when we get down there. So, we were debating what would be the best thing to buy a 9 year old with $30. We have some ideas, but I know there are some really creative members on this board who specifically may have children.

So, what do you guys think would be the best thing to get this little dude to cheer him up?

How about a long-sleeved LSU t-shirt that he can wear out to cover his arms?

Kudos to you guys for caring, hope you have a great safe time. Make sure and bring him back some stadium cups too.

How much would a game worn jersey cost?

Contact the LSU Athletic Department. Explain the situation. If you can get a message to Les Miles you can probably get a team signed football.

Phillip Fulmer used to do stuff like that all the time.

The worst that can happen is they tell you no.

Call the LSU sports administration and try to talk to Michael Bonnette or his secretary. They are really good people and have helped me out before. Bring them a football or jersey or something and he will get players and coach to sign it. They have no problem in doing that. Good luck and god bless

I would try to get him an LSU sweatshirt or a t-shirt with his picture on it. Y'all should be able to have enough time to get it through one of these Internet companies that can have it printed and mailed to you. Geaux Tigers and God bless

make contact with the LSU athletic department and provide them all of the details. I am sure your 30 dollars will go MUCH further that way.
