Sounds like y'all had a great relationship and you should feel blessed by that. Loss is loss and it hurts like hell. I lost my son a year ago and would much rather have gone first.
One thing I know for sure thou, is that heaven is not something to be scared of and you will see him again. Heaven is so much better then this world.
My pastor at my church wrote a book about heaven after interviewing thousands of people that had near death experiences. It is on Amazon and called "imagine heaven". At some point in the future I recommend you read it. It has given me comfort after my son passed.
