I get that he is out, but I don't think that will be an out next year unless the player over slides the base. He easily beat the throw and stayed on the bag except for a fraction of a second. Not how replay should be used.

I think the only way to stop this is to have a Hover Rule. If you have reached and touched a base safely, you cannot be out if any part of your body is over the bag (kind of like how a basketball cannot be touched within the cylinder) during the continuous act.

Maybe once you touch the bag, you have an invisible plane above the base that goes up to infinity. So if you come up directly over the bag, you are still safe.

Something like that.

I just wouldn't let him face anyone for a third time.
