Can we all take a minute to laugh at Dabo Swinney one more time?

Dalvin Cook > Fournette?
Or maybe the difference could be level of competition? The ACC is a joke. Ask any NFL scout who they would rather have on their team.
quote:
"It's like comparing Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota," Swinney said. "They're both really good, but if you can only pick one, I'm taking Dalvin Cook. They're both phenomenal players, and I've seen [Fournette] a good bit."
Swinney's case isn't all that tough to make. While Fournette's 1,202 rushing yards are impressive, Cook is averaging more yards-per-carry (8.7) than Fournette (8.0), is averaging more yards after contact and he's been a productive part of Florida State's passing game. In all, Fournette has racked up 172 more yards and three more touchdowns than Cook, but the FSU tailback has 32 fewer touches and has played the past few games on a gimpy hamstring. When it comes to big plays -- of 20 yards or more -- Cook has 16 to Fournette's 13.
That, in Swinney's eyes, is the difference.

I've actually grown to respect Dabo a lot more than I originally did in his early years, but I also think he overvalues his opinion with what feels like weekly soundbites from him about debatable topics with no clear answer. Why couldn't he just say Cook is a phenomenal back and leave it at that?

He still has to play dalvin. Just being a smart coach for goodness sake.

Fournette passes the eye test but you can't argue with Cook's results.

He fails to mention Cook has played one more game.
ETA: NVM, didn't realize FSU already had their BYE

Clemson plays FSU on 11/7. He's probably just setting the stage and pumping that game up.

FSU has played:
Cook's stats
Texas State(1-4) 19 carries, 156 yards, 2 TDs
USF(3-3) 30 carries, 266 yards, 3 TDs
BC (3-4) 15 carries, 54 yards
Wake Forest(3-4) 2 carries, 94 yards, 1 TD
Miami(4-2) 22 carries, 222yds, 2 TDs
Louisville(2-4) 22 carries, 163yds, 2 TDs
Cook is a good back but come on they've played 1 team with a winning record!

Dalvin Cook almost came here, imagine if he had come here along with Fournette...
Posted on 10/20/15 at 3:24 pm to tlsu15
Fournette will be better pro than cook.

What double wide trailer parking self respecting hick names their kid "Dabo"?

Exactly what kind of contact is a 200lb running back dishing out? He doesn't Instill fear into those Dbs like LF7 does. Everett Gholson is a seasoned qb that opens up the run game for Cooks.. Harris is still progressing. Everyone in the world knows Fournette is getting the ball and he still gets yards with 8-9 man fronts. He's bigger, maybe faster, and plays better defenses. LF7 makes people quit.

I was talking about this the other day. Let's compare them though.
1) Cook carried the ball 15 times for 54 yards averaging 3.6 ypc, going under 100 yards in a game already. Fournette had never gone under 100 yards in any game this year (hell, under 150 yards), and has yet to average less than 5.7 ypc in any game.
2) Fournette has been THE focal point of our offense. He is keyed on way more, and runs into 8 and 9 man boxes regularly. Cook has been one balanced part on his offense, and twice games have been won without him playing good, or even being in the game after the first drive.
3) Fournette has been closed down twice in games where he could have easily broken the 300 yard mark, and could have legit broken the mark in 3 games. Against Auburn he was at 227 with 10:28 to go in the 3rd quarter. Against SCAR he was at 158 with 10:30 to go in the 3rd quarter. Against Syracuse he had an 87 yard TD thrown away because a WR wasn't lined up on the line crap. That would have again given him enough for 300 yards. Cook's closest chance of legit hitting 300 yards in any game was against Wake Forest when he had 94 yards on 2 carries, then was hurt. I've watched his games and he has never come close or had even the possibility of doing it more than once this year.
4) They pass the ball way more than we do. Cook doesn't run into 8 and 9 man boxes 80% (that's a made up stat but I bet it's close to the actual number if I look it up) of the time like Fournette. They average 30.8 att per game, we average 18.2. They average 253.7 yards per game, we average 135.3.
5) Their best competition has been Boston College.
ETA:
However, I will give him props as I really believe that he is the second best back in the country. I also thought he was the second best back in his class (he was in the class with Fournette).

He was probably asked a question about Dalvin Cook and Leonard Fournette, and since he's aleeady faced Cook and watched a lot more film on him than Leonard why would he not say Cook is the best he's seen?
I like Dabo and would want him as our coach if we didn't have Les.
We really do have some butthurt fans.

His name is Dabo and he lets people call him that. I will never take him serious. LMAO.
They luckily beat us by a last minute FG when we played our worst game of the year. We roll that team 9 out of 10 times. GTFO.
